Official steps to apply for, renew, or update your Nepali passport online.
Online pre-enrolment
Fill the form at online.nepalpassport.gov.np. Pick type (new/renewal/lost/damaged), book size (34/66 pages), service type and centre. Your citizenship record is verified/linked during enrolment.
Upload documents & pay
Upload required scans (each under 300 KB) and note the revenue voucher number. Pay the fee at a citizen's bank using the voucher.
Book appointment
Select a service centre and date; note the QR / barcode reference for your appointment.
Visit the centre
Bring originals: citizenship (or minor ID) and the NID number, revenue voucher, and old passport for renewals. Minors need guardian's citizenship document and a verification from the District Administration / Authorised Administrative Office of their municipality.
Biometrics
Photo, 10 fingerprints and signature are captured. Check your details (especially spelling) on the screen before confirming.
Collect & check
Collect the passport and verify all details and the number of pages; report any error immediately.
Track status
Check application status on the passport portal using citizenship, date of birth, birthplace and surname.
