Rasuwa Flood Update: Confirmed Death Toll Reaches 1,341; Nearly 5,000 Reported Missing

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has issued its latest official bulletin regarding the search, rescue, and relief operations in the wake of the devastating Rasuwa flooding. As of 11:00 AM today, Bhadra 21, the confirmed death toll from the disaster has risen to 1,341, with official identification so far established for 98 of the deceased. The authority reports that the total number of missing or uncontactable individuals has reached 4,996. Based on updated records from local administration offices, the missing population includes 1,967 Nepali citizens documented by the Rasuwa District Administration Office, 2,340 Nepali citizens logged by the Nuwakot District Administration Office, 589 foreign nationals, and 100 security personnel and government employees. Search and rescue operations have successfully extracted 13,104 individuals from the disaster zones to date. On the health front, medical personnel have treated 6,075 people for flood-related injuries. To support displaced families, authorities have established 39 holding centers across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Kathmandu, which are currently accommodating 3,652 flood victims as relief and rehabilitation efforts continue.
